What happens on race day
Course & Obstacles tells you what you're taking on. This page walks you through the day itself — before you leave home, what check-in looks like, and what happens after you cross the finish.
Before you go
What to sort out at home
Registration and waivers are handled online in advance — nothing to print. Bring a change of clothes, a towel, and garbage bags for the wet, muddy things you're wearing home. Leave anything sentimental or valuable in the car; free bag check is available on site for the rest.
Arrival & check-in
Getting there and getting your bib
Plan to arrive 30–45 minutes ahead of your wave time. Look for the Your First Mud Run check-in tent, collect your bib, and line up about 10 minutes before your wave goes out. Parking, exact arrival windows, and any city/venue parking fees are confirmed on each event's own page.
What to bring
Race-day kit, at a glance
This is the same list as the homepage's "We handle the essentials" section — nothing different here, just handy on its own page too.

Just bring this
On the course
While you're out there
Follow the course markers and any staff directions along the way — they're there to help, not to time you. If an obstacle isn't right for someone in your group that day, go around it; nobody has to prove anything out there. Please don't leave litter on the course.
After the finish
Medals, photos, and heading home
Cross the finish together, collect your medal, and grab a photo at the finish banner. Cleanup arrangements — rinse stations, changing areas, and similar amenities — vary by venue, so check your event page for what's confirmed at your location. Some events offer the option to run the course again for a small additional fee; ask at the front desk on the day if that's available.
Photos & event galleries
Finding your pictures afterward
Event photos are typically shared within a few days of race day. Full photo galleries for past events are gathered in one place as they become available.
A quick note
Check your event page for the specifics
Everything above is true across Your First Mud Run generally. Parking, vendors, cleanup facilities, exact arrival times, and other amenities are confirmed per venue — your event's own page always has the final word.
